Reference Document:  Considerations for Granting a Leave of Absence
Associated Policy:  Leave of Absence
Created Date: 01.06.2020 Effective Date:  --.--.---- Revised Date(s): --.--.----

When granting a Leave of Absence (LOA), the Dean of Student Affairs will consider if the student requesting the LOA meets the following criteria:
  • Be a degree-seeking matriculated student having completed one semester at the College.
  • Be in good academic standing, as defined in the College Academic Standing Policy on the College Public Policy Portal, and passing all courses at the time of the Leave. Students on academic probation may not qualify for a LOA.
  • Be in good financial standing with the College. Students on financial hold do not qualify for a LOA.
  • Provide supporting medical documentation dated within 30 days of the request for a Medical LOA.
If any of these criteria or the application for obtaining an LOA could be a barrier to the student receiving adequate support, the student and/or the student's Advisor should speak directly with the Dean of Student Affairs.
