Abstract: 
Selection of the successful applicant is the decision of the hiring department. The appropriate recruiter must be notified before a hire offer can be extended. This is to verify that the recruitment process has been correctly followed and completed.

The selection of the successful applicant is the responsibility of the hiring department. The department should notify Human Resources/Talent Acquisition as soon as a decision has been made, but before an offer has been extended. Human Resources/ Talent Acquisition will verify whether the hiring process has been appropriately followed and completed.

It is the responsibility of the hiring department to notify applicants who were interviewed by them but not selected. Notification should be made promptly after a job offer has been accepted.

Human Resources/ Talent Acquisition may notify other unsuccessful applicants who applied for a specific position but were not interviewed by the hiring manager via the applicant tracking system.

Offers of Employment - University
When a hiring decision is made, Human Resources/Talent Acquisition should be contacted immediately, before an offer is extended so that the entire process can be reviewed and approved in accordance with University's Hiring Approval Policy 101 and federal regulations.

The official offer of employment or authorization to extend an offer is made by Human Resources/Talent Acquisition. After the offer has been accepted, a Letter of Offer will be generated by Human Resources/Talent Acquisition. The letter of offer will be sent directly to the new hire and to HR Records.

Offers of Employment – UAB Hospital
When a hiring decision is made, Human Resources should be contacted immediately. The official offer of employment is made by Human Resources. After the offer has been accepted, the hiring manager will be notified by Human Resources.
