Dual Employment With The State

  1. Policy Statement

The University of Texas at Austin ("University") requires its employees to appropriately manage dual employment with the state in accordance with Board of Regents' Rules and Regulations and state law.
 

  1. Reason for Policy

This policy provides guidelines to administer dual employment by University employees who have or are considering other State of Texas employment.

This policy applies to all University employees.

  1. Responsibilities & Procedures

The University of Texas employees who are concurrently employed by the State of Texas are subject to the following provisions:

 

  1. Separate leave records will be maintained for each employment.
 
  1. Time worked in one position may not be used as additional service for longevity or vacation purposes.

 

  1. Upon termination of one employment, the leave balance accrued under that employment may not be transferred to the remaining employment.
