Employee Discount Program

  1. Policy Statement

The University of Texas at Austin (“University”) offers an employee discount program (EDP) in accordance with The University of Texas System (“UT System”) policy UTS141, "Employee Discount Programs." This benefit is offered to benefits eligible employees of the University and UT System Administration..

  1. Reason for Policy

To offer an employee discount program as one of the standard benefit offerings used by the University to recruit, engage, and retain top faculty and staff talent and to align with UT System policy UTS141.
 

  1. Scope & Audience

The policy is applicable to benefits eligible employees of the University and to benefits eligible employees of UT System Administration in accordance with UT System policy UTS141.
 

  1. Definitions (specific to this policy)

Employee Discount Program (EDP):

Any program, plan, or offering through which one or more products and services are offered by individuals or companies that provide employee discount programs, merchandise, membership programs, credit union and banking programs, or other similar programs.

Participating Service and Product Provider (Provider):

A person or company providing a discounted service or product to employees through the University's Employee Discount Program.

  1. Responsibilities & Procedures
    1. General

 

  1. Human Resources (HR) is responsible for

 

 

  1. The University may discontinue the EDP at any time without advance notice.

 

  1. Information about this program is available at: http://www.utexas.edu/hr/edp/.

 

 

  1. Employee Participation

 

  1. The EDP is available to benefits eligible employees and does not constitute compensation from the University to its employees.

 

  1. By offering the EDP to its employees, the University and UT System

 

 

  1. Provider Participation

 

  1. The University will assure that any provider who participates in the EDP agrees to the following terms:

 

 
  1. Products or materials made available by the provider through the EDP must not be abusive, profane, offensive, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, false, defamatory, or harassing.

 

  1. Third Party Administrator

 

Should the University elect to contract with a third party provider to offer and/or administer the EDP Program, the University will ensure the provider complies with all of the EDP program requirements of Sec. VII.C of this policy.
